Forest Bathing in the Spessart Region
Gabriele Skrock is the founder of „ Mensch und Wald e.V.“ (engl.: human and forest). She helps people to dive into the relaxing atmosphere of the forest and also helps them discover which health-promoting effects the “forest bathing” has. Forest Bathing (Japanese: Shinin-yoku) is all about mindfulness, relaxation and meditation. Numerous scientific studies have proven that the invigorating and at the same time calming forest atmosphere, as well as the terpenes and the etheric substances contained in the air have a measurable, positive influence on body functions and the mind.
Gabriele Skrock recommends, that therapeutic forest bathing from prevention to healing should be used on a regular basis. In the best case it should be two to four hours a week. For chronic diseases, on the other hand, whole forest days are recommended.
